Dry Eye is the largest category on this site, and it is broad on purpose. It is not one product type. It brings together lubricating drops, lid and lash cleansers, warm and cool masks, omega supplements, at home devices and the refills that keep all of those going. There are no subcategories to click through, so the sections below are a map of what is sitting in the grid above.
The groups inside this category
- Drops, gels and ointments. Lubricating drops in bottles and in preservative free vials from Refresh, Systane, TheraTears, Blink, GenTeal Tears, Oasis Tears and OCuSOFT, plus the thicker gels and nighttime ointments.
- Lid and lash cleansers. Foams, gels, sprays and pre moistened wipes. Hypochlorous sprays from Avenova, Bruder and Acuicyn sit here alongside tea tree formulas from Cliradex, EyeEco, OCuSOFT, Blephex and Zocular. Several are labeled as facial cleansers as well.
- Masks and compresses. Moist heat masks from Bruder and EyeEco, the Oasis hot and cold mask, and hydrating sleep masks such as EyeEco Eyeseals, which CPAP users also buy.
- Supplements. Omega 3 softgels and liquids from Nordic Naturals and PRN, and eye focused formulas from Eyetamins and Vibrant Vue.
- Devices and their refills. At home tools such as the NuLids handheld device and the OcuSci MGrx, together with the replacement tips and applicator gels that go with them.
- Kits. Pre assembled sets that pull several of the above together, usually built around a single brand.
Two ways people shop this page
Some arrive with a product name already written down, often from an appointment, and go straight to the brand they were told about. Others arrive with nothing but the phrase dry eye and want to see what exists. If that is you, the useful thing to notice is that these groups are not substitutes for one another. A drop, a lid cleanser, a mask and a supplement are different kinds of product in different formats, which is exactly why so many of the kits on this page combine them.
Most of it is consumable
Vials, wipes, replacement tips, softgels and cleanser bottles all run out, so pack size matters more in this category than in most. The same product often appears in two or three counts, and a few, such as the PRN omega range, are sold in one, two and three month quantities. Check the count on the label before you add to cart, and if you are buying something for the first time, the smallest size is the low risk way to try it.
Where your eye doctor fits in
Dry eye is a medical condition, and this is a store rather than a clinic. What we can tell you is what each product is, who makes it and how it is packaged. What belongs in your own routine, and in what order, is a question for the optometrist or ophthalmologist who examines your eyes. Many of the brands here, including Avenova, PRN, Bruder, EyeEco, I-Med Pharma and Zocular, are sold through eye care practices, so if you were handed a name at your last visit there is a good chance it is on this page.
