About Alcon

Alcon shows up in two very different parts of this catalog. Most of what we stock is contact lenses, across four families, and the rest is clinical ophthalmic solutions of the kind used in a practice or dispensed against a prescription.

Contact lenses

• Dailies: Aqua Comfort Plus, Total1 and Colors, with toric and multifocal versions. All are daily disposables.
• Precision: Precision1 daily disposables and Precision7 weekly replacement, both with astigmatism versions.
• Air Optix: monthly replacement lenses, including plus HydraGlyde, Night and Day Aqua, astigmatism, multifocal and Colors.
• Total30: monthly replacement, with astigmatism, multifocal and multifocal toric versions.

Ophthalmic solutions

Cyclomydril, Betadine 5 percent ophthalmic solution and Balanced Salt Solution in 15 mL and 500 mL bottles sit under our Rx and prescription products area. These are professional and prescription items rather than consumer drops, and they are ordered against a prescription or a practice account.

How to choose a lens

Your prescription settles most of it. Astigmatism means a toric lens, which carries a cylinder and an axis value as well as a sphere power. Presbyopia usually means a multifocal, which carries an add power. After that the open question is replacement schedule. Daily disposables mean no solution and no case, at a higher cost per day. Weekly and monthly lenses cost less per day but need a care routine and a solution you keep rebuying.

Lenses are fitted to your eyes, so moving between brands or materials is a conversation with your fitter rather than a swap at reorder time. Base curve, diameter and power all have to match what is written on a current prescription before an order can ship.
