OCuSOFT has been making ocular surface and eyelid products since 1986, and the catalog is wide enough that the brand name alone does not tell you much. It is easier to shop once you know the four lines.

The lines we carry

• Lid Scrub. Eyelid cleansers in foam and pre moistened pad form. Original for daily use, Plus and Plus Platinum for an extra strength formula, Allergy for allergy season, Earth as a plant based option, and a Baby version for very gentle cleaning.
• Oust Demodex. A tea tree based cleanser sold as foam, as pre moistened pads, and as a compliance kit that pairs the two.
• Retaine. The eye side of the range. Retaine MGD and Retaine CMC preservative free drops, Retaine PM nighttime ointment, a liposome spray with hyaluronic acid for the lids, and Retaine Allergy once daily drops for eye itch.
• Supplements. Retaine Flax Omega, Retaine OM3 and Retaine Vision softgels.

How to choose

For lid cleansers, decide on format first. Foam needs a sink and suits a fixed morning or evening routine. Pads are portioned and travel well. Sprays are the least hands on. Then decide on strength: Original is the everyday option and Plus is the stronger formula.

On the Retaine side, the preservative free vials suit frequent daytime use, while PM is an ointment and is sold as a nighttime product because it is far thicker than a drop.

The tea tree and allergy specific options exist for particular situations. Your eye doctor is the right person to say whether either one belongs in your routine.
