About the Product

The OPTASE Heat Mask Pro is a reusable microwavable eye mask made up of a removable, machine washable bamboo fabric cover and a mask insert built around Hydrobead Technology. The mask has a contoured fit, with stitching that holds the beads in place, and an adjustable strap that is latex free and Velcro free. It comes with a storage pouch and is designed for up to 365 daily uses.

This is a moist warm compress. Hydrobead Technology absorbs moisture from the air and releases it as moist heat when the mask is warmed in a microwave. The warm mask is placed over closed eyes for 10 minutes as part of a daily eyecare routine, and it is step 1, Heat, of the OPTASE three step regimen of Heat, Cleanse and Hydrate. The same mask can also be chilled in a freezer and used cold.

How to Use

Use daily as part of your eyecare routine.

Warm use

1. Remove any makeup, false eyelashes and contact lenses.
2. Lay the mask flat on a clean, microwave safe plate, making sure it does not contact any metal surfaces. Make sure the microwave is clean, dry and free from grease or residue.
3. Heat only in a microwave, for no longer than the recommended time: up to 800W, 25 seconds; 900W and above, 15 seconds.
4. Test the mask temperature with your wrist before using on closed eyes. If it is too hot, let the mask cool for 1 minute and test again.
5. Place the mask over closed eyes for 10 minutes, adjusting the strap as needed for comfort.

Cold use

1. Place the mask in a sealable plastic bag and leave it in the freezer for 30 minutes.
2. Place the mask over closed eyes for 5 to 7 minutes.

Care and Cleaning

• Remove the mask insert from the mask cover before cleaning. Do not wash the mask insert.
• Mask cover: machine wash at 30°C / 86°F on a delicate cycle. Do not tumble dry, iron or bleach. Do not dry clean.
• Mask insert: wipe clean with a damp cloth, then let it air dry for a minimum of 24 hours before next use. Do not submerge the mask insert in water.

Warnings

• Do not exceed a maximum of 30 seconds of heating.
• Temporary blurred vision after using the mask is normal and should clear in minutes; if not resolved within an hour, contact your Eyecare Professional.
• Do not use the mask on open wounds.
• Use with caution if you have poor circulation or reduced sensation, especially due to diabetes.
• Seek professional advice if you have a medical condition that affects the eyes or the skin around the eyes or if symptoms persist or worsen.
• Check your mask for damage regularly and replace when needed.
• Use only as directed; for external use only; do not ingest any part of the mask.
• Do not use while sleeping.
• Keep out of reach of children. Adult supervision required if used on children.
• Wait 30 minutes before reheating.
• Do not leave the mask unattended while heating in the microwave.

Storage

Keep the mask in the storage pouch provided. Store in a clean, dry place.
